Happy Halloween!
Back in July 2012, HarperTeen and Figment had a short story contest – it had to be about the dark and shouldn’t be longer than 4k words. I entered the contest – I didn’t win, but I got a very nice email from the judge and editor of the anthology the short story was to be published with, saying that the story was beautiful and that my writing was gorgeous, and such.
Though I wrote that short story over a year ago, I still think it’s my best writing to this day. It’s very different than my contemporary style, or my UF style. This is more … lush? I don’t know how to explain.
Anyway, it’s a story about witches and ghosts and witch hunters … and, since it’s Halloween, I thought you would like to read it :D
You can find my short story, Into the Darkest Fire, on WattPad or Figment – if you read it, let me know what you think! I love comments :)
By the way, the cover was designed by my NA Alley sister, Jaycee DeLorenzo. Isn’t it gorgeous?
I hope you like it! :)
Cheers,
