If you have been coming around here for a while, you heard about #ROW80. I’ve been participating of it since the fourth round of 2011, so I kinda consider myself a veteran ;)
If you don’t know what #ROW80 is, here it goes:
From the website:
A Round of Words in 80 Days is the writing challenge that knows you have a life.
We are all different and we all have different demands on our time. Why should we all have the same goal? The simple answer is that we shouldn’t. If you want to be a writer, then you have to be able to roll with the punches and adapt to your changing circumstances. If that means changing your goals when your life blows up, so be it. ROW80 is the challenge that champions the marriage of writing and real life.
The greatest thing about ROW80 is the people participating in it. I’ve met several writers through ROW80 and made some great friends. They keep me motivated and support me while I go nuts to achieve my goals. We also run writing sprints on weekdays, at 2pm EST on twitter, which is fun and also very supportive.
The first round of 2013 starts today and runs until March 28th.
Like the last two rounds, I’ll set up weekly goals.
So, my goals for the first week:
- Writing: actually, I’ll revise my novel, Destiny Gift.
- Reading: finish reading book #1 and #2 of the year.
- Social media: Twitter: try to be present, but not too much. Blog: post a couple of times.
- Exercising: at least 4x.

Good luck to us! Let’s have fun!

I like the straightforward simple goals. Some rounds, I’ve tried to do too much–to spread my net too wide. Your list looks great. Best wishes, Juliana! I’m in again as well.
Juliana
*high five* Thanks, Julie!

Huh- I’ve been seeing ROW80 around Twitter for months now and am only now finally understanding what it is (I know, I should have just asked you guys- haha). This sounds amazing!
Juliana
Ha! Now it’s your chance to join! DO IT!!
Alex J. Cavanaugh
You really kick but with #ROW80.
Juliana
Thanks, Alex!

good goals for the week – I’m def. a ROW80 girl for as long as it lasts:)
Juliana
Thanks, Alberta!

Like Julie said, I like your straightforward and simple goals. I’ve been trying to simplify mine over the last few rounds too, and it has really helped. Good luck!

Looks like there’s a bunch of us riding the editing train this round! I am so intimidated by my WIPs (I feel like they are glaring at me accusingly, and demanding why I ever walked away from them in the first place :/), but if we’re all doing it together, perhaps it won’t be as scary.
Have a great first week, Juliana. I’ll see you during sprinty times!
Lauren Garafalo
Hooray!! So glad you’re here again. (We may all be lifers?!) Nice, clear goals for this week. You’ll do wonderfully <3 <3

Yes, I’m probably a lifer too, lol. I like your style, Juliana. It’s going to be a great round and I’ll be cheering you on the whole way.

Your goals sound very like some of mine! I like having specific goals for these things… it makes it easier for me to stay on track. Sounds like you’ve got some good, solid goals this time around!
Kat Morrisey
That’s a great set of goals! I just love the 2pm EST #row80 sprints. I’m hoping to join in a couple times a week. (I’m even penciling them into my schedule, cause I’m kind of a nerd like that! :D) You guys are such an awesome, motivating crowd. I hope your week is going well and congrats on your upcoming release, Destiny’s Gift! *throws glitter AND confetti*
Kat Morrisey
And I meant “Destiny Gift” (which I added to goodreads!) Autocorrect put an apostrophe there o.o *glares at autocorrect*
Jaime Morrow
I think it’s great that you’ve been setting goals like this for yourself. Such a great idea! I am not the greatest for following through with goals, unfortunately. :/ I guess I should try and change that this year!
Em
Simple and straightforward is my plan too! We can do this and your simple, achievable goals are perfect!
Have a wonderful week one!
EM Castellan
Your goals for this first week sound good! Best of luck with them and see you during the sprints :)

Your goals are so steady and concise. I tried this time to do the same….. deep breath… and here on the second day I am looking at myself saying “Now, why didn’t you do that, crazy woman on crack?”
And then I realized… just now… I did afterall and it took YOUR goals to remind me!
Big hugs and happy high fives… row row row!
