Road Trip Wednesday is a “Blog Carnival,” where YA Highway‘s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody’s unique take on the topic.
This week’s topic:
What music has been your summer soundtrack?
Honestly, it’s hard to pinpoint. I’m ecletic and it depends on my mood—or the scene I’m writing ;)
I have over 3000 songs on my itunes and several playlists on youtube: Witchy | Sex Scenes | Country | Gypsies | Pop | Light Rock | Dance | Eastern Goodness | Assassins | Instrumental
But, thanks to Donelle Lacy, another RTW Highwayer, I found out about these guys two or three (or four?) months ago and can’t get enough:
A sexy one:
And then, watching BigBang videos, I found this song. I love running on the gym with it blasting on my ears:
Hopefully, Donelle is getting ready to come visit me in November so we can go to NYC together and go to BIGBANG’s concert!!!
How about you guys? What’s you summer soundtrack?
Cheers,
***

Wow–you have different playlists for each type of scene?! My playlist for writing consists of one file: white noise. Not nearly as interesting!

Mine only changes when my favorite progressive rock bands release new albums.

Yeah, I have a loooooot of playlists too. And my K-Pop collection is growing too. I love Super Junior and Girls’ Generation. The music videos are half the fun! ^_^

I’m impressed by all your playlist! Asian boy bands seem to be getting pretty popular, have heard of a couple.
My summer playlist has been very relaxed, with one favorite song whose lyrics were penned by a YA author :)

Super impressive use of playlists! I tend to fall into song ruts–despite having thousands on my laptop. Maybe I need to use shuffle now and then to remind myself of old favorites–or make some themed playlists.

Your playlist cracked me up. love the picks for your sex scene mix. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Those playlists are great!
I always get caught up in songs and forget what else i have on my ipod.

Music is so inspiring…I have to be careful, though. If I listen to music with lyrics, I get distracted while trying to write. I mostly listen to instrumental when working.
I am, however, a huge Rush fan, and often listen to their music. For a three man band, they produce amazing music. Getty Lee is so amazingly talented as a bass and keyboard player – doing both at the same time…and Neil Peart is possibly the best drummer in rock history. Their music and lyrics are intricate and thought provoking.
