Hey friends! Welcome to my weekly ROW80 update!
Here is my goals for the past week and how it went:
- Writing: Just write. Anything. Monday, I reread some notes and prepared to start writing again. Tuesday, I wrote 1769 words. Wed, I wrote 2400 words. Thur, I wrote 2733 words. Frid, I wrote 999 words. Total of week: 7901 words. Not bad, but I know I can do better.
- Reading: read book #62 of the year. Read book #62, #63 and #64.
- Social media: I want to spend LESS time on twitter and blogging—so I can get more writing done! More or less. I didn’t blog though, only Sat which had been scheduled ahead of time, so that was a good thing.
- Exercising: at least 4x. Six times.
My goals for next week:
- Avoid hurricane!
- Writing: Just keep writing.
- Reading: read book #65 of the year.
- Social media: I want to spend LESS time on twitter and blogging—so I can get more writing done!
- Exercising: at least 3x.
First, we have the hurricane coming. I live right on the coast, 2 miles from the ocean where it’ll hit. This is my first time so close to a hurricane. When we lived down in SC, we only got hit by the left over storms after hurricanes since we lived in the center of the sate. I confess I’m kinda nervous. Anyway, so now I’m anticipating that I won’t be able to go to the gym much this week, and, if power is out, I won’t write much either.
Second, NaNoWriMo starts on Thursday and I plan to write all day, but I’m taking my 4 wisdom teeth on Frid morning, with general anesthesia, and the doc said I’ll be a little dizzy at least until Sunday night or Monday morning. Nice uh … gonna start NaNo behind lol
Anyway, it looks like I won’t get much done this next week, period.
On my blogs this past week:
- NA is a category, not a genre.
- Upcoming Agent in the Alley pitch contest.
- Author Spotlight with Chelsea M. Cameron.
Have a great, hurricane-free week!
Cheers,
EM Castellan
A hurricane AND a general anesthesia in the same week?! I’m saying take the week off, sweetie ;) Best of luck and keep us updated on Twitter if you can!
Juliana
LOL Yeah, I was making the math, that if we stay put until Wed, which is when they predict the storm will get calmer, then I’m out Fri and Sat because of the extraction, I won’t be able to go to the gym 3x this week. I’m guessing I won’t go to the gym at all =(
Robin Moran
If I had thought about taking a book to read in the gym I may have been able to keep going! Oh well, I’m never going to like the gym anyway. It’s a Wii for me to lose weight and stay healthy!
I envy you’re will and determination. I think you’ve done brilliantly each week. Keep it up! =D
Juliana
Reading makes the time fly. When I look at the timer at the elliptical, it’s usually much more than I think it is. It’s easy to work out for an hour while reading ;)

7,901 words is a great week. If you think you can do more, great, but I think that is super, particularly when coupled with reading three books. Stay safe and I hope the extractions go well.
Juliana
Thanks, John!

Not bad on the word count? Pfft. You made me look like I was asleep at the keyboard. hehe. I’d say you did really well this week. I never really thought about trying to read while doing my treadmill time. Of course, I only have an iPad (not the best eReader) and I typically am reading from real books. But I might try putting that up on the treadmill to finish this particular book since I’m reading it in an ebook format. Good luck this coming week and please be safe!

Stay safe over the next couple of days, Juliana. Best of luck with your writing goals, but heck, a storm that size is bound to distract from a little thing like word count.
Em
So maybe I need to start going to the gym to read the 29 books I have left of the challenge!!!
I hope the teeth situation isn’t too painful and with your word count totals NaNo should be a doddle!!!

Riding out a hurricane is just like riding a bike…wait, no – duck and cover? Seriously, be safe, but make sure you take good notes, after all, how often does a writer get to experience a hurricane live and in person?
Excellent goals and great job on the reading and exercise. Have a fantastic week, Juliana :)

Your word count this week was awesome, hold onto that while you get through this week. You know you can. Gene gave you so great advice, yes, take notes. But first and foremost, be safe and please tweet when you can. I’ll be thinking about you through both trials this week. (((hugs)))

I hope all is well in the wake of the hurricane. That’s the most important thing at this point. I look forward to hearing a good report. All the best!
