I received the Kreativ Blogger Award by the fun Tarah Dunn. I’ve met Tarah through the blog carnival Ya Highway promotes every Wednesday and I love reading her posts. Thanks, Tarah!
As for the rules to accept this award, I’m supposed to share 10 things you may or may not know about me, and then nominate 6 more bloggers who are very creative.
Looking back, I remember receiving other blog awards, but not this one. Somehwere on my blog I have posted a few things about me, though let’s post them here again:
- English is my Second Language, but it doesn’t feel like it anymore. I know I have a lot to improve yet, but I can’t imagine writing in any other language.
- I lived in the US from 2004 to 2009. I loved it. I want to go back. There are plans to go back this year (hubby transferring …) but it’s not set in stone yet. Here is hoping!
- I speak Portuguese, English, Spanish and a tad bit of French. I wanted to learn Italian too. And Russian … and German lol You get the point. I love learning other languages and cultures ;)
- When I was around 5 yo, my parents had 10 dogs at our house. At the same time. Big dogs. Way bigger than I was.
- I have Orthostatic Intolerance. I think that’s one of the reasons I hate summer.
- I danced ballet for over 20 years. But now I can’t anymore because of several injuries on my feet and knees (caused by pointe shoes!).
- The first romances I read (I was 10yo) were the sugary books of Danielle Steel. Hey, no judgie! Those were the books available to me—my mother had shelves stuffed with books by Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts and Sydney Sheldon.
- I have a BA in Art Studio with emphasizes on Graphic Design. And I’m a terrible Graphic Designer lol
- I’m tall and I don’t like it. I’m 5’9″ (1.75m) and I love high heels. If I could choose my height, I would be 5’6″ or 5’7″ (1.68-1.70m). That way, I would be able to wear my 4 or 5 inches heels and wouldn’t feel bad/uncomfortable about it.
- For the last 2 years, I have spent the weekdays in one city and the weekends on another (2 hours apart). So I have two houses to stress over. This coming and going is supposed to have an end soon, but I’m not exactly sure when.
Passing along the nomination, I give you not six, but eight writers and bloggers whom I met through Ladies Who Critique. They are incredible gals and, if you don’t know them yet, you should.
Jani Grey at Life Debatable.
Kelley Lynn at Between the Bookends.
Jenny Kaczorowski at In Somnis Veritas.
Tracy Rohlfing at Scarlet Sanctum.
Ladonna Watkins at The Writer in Me.
Heather L. Reid at I’d Rather be Writing.
Melissa Hurst at Chasing the Dream.
Jenn Johnson at A Single Bell.
Ugh, I think I’m the only one with a cool motto for my website/blog. I think I’ll have to fix that soon lol
Now, go check out my fine ladies!
Cheers,
Alex J. Cavanaugh
Congratulations! And I’ve always thought that those ballet shoes looked painful.
Juliana
Actually, you grow used to them and the pain is not there anymore. But, it’s easy to twist the ankles lol
Jenny Kaczorowski
Thanks, Juliana! You live an exciting life!
I love language, but never picked up more than a few words here & there. I understand Spanish fairly well, but I don’t speak well, especially since my last class in college was more than 10 years ago!
I danced ballet (en pointe) until I was fifteen. I still miss it from time to time, but my knees are bad enough :)
And I always wished I was tall. I’m just over 5’2″ and the whole world is just out of reach. Wear those heels with pride and know I’m jealous!
Juliana
How about I give you a few inches? Then I’ll be a little shorter and you’ll be a little taller ;)
Gina
where did you live in the US? i lived in south america for about four months (peru and bolivia), but never made it over to brazil. i can’t wait to visit there one day :)
congrats on your well-deserved award!
Juliana
Three years in Columbia, South Carolina, then two years in Toledo, Ohio ;)
Colin
Congrats on the award, Juliana! I wish I was fluent in more than one language (or two, if you count British English and American English… :) ). That’s something I ought to remedy, sometime.
Ladonna
Merci, Juliana. I’m touching up on my French so the girls can learn. Thanks for the award. I wish I was 5’9 but I ‘m only 5’6 and I can’t wear heels to save my life. You’ll have to teach me.
Kelley Lynn
Thanks SO MUCH for the award Juliana!
And two houses…jeepers.
I always wished I could dance. I’m 5’4” so I’ll take a few of your inches that way we’ll both be ‘perfect’ :)
Elodie
Congrats Juliana :-)
Looking forward to discover the blogs you passed on the award to!
I totally understand your frustration with being tall (I´m also 1m75), I´d like to be maybe 5 cms shorter…
English is my second language as well and while I use to write in FR since I lived in the US it just does not flow the way it is supposed to any longer…
Tracy
Awww Thnx so much Juliana! It’s so interesting learning more about you!I hope you come back to the states soon!
Jani
Thanks for the award. The best dancing I can do is shuffle from left to right. I also can’t believe you want to be shorter. I am and I have trouble finding pants that don’t drag on the floor.
Melissa Hurst
Thanks for the award, Juliana! You’re so sweet:)
I hope you do get to come back to the US! Do you know what state yet (if you do)?
