First Loves Blogfest hosted by awesome Alex J. Cavanaugh – on May 14, post your first loves – first movie, first song/band, first book, and first person. Four loves, one blogfest!
First movie: Labyrinth – it scared the hell out of me, but I couldn’t get enough of it.
Then, as a teenager, it was Titanic …
First song/band: When I was a teenager, it was Backstreet Boys. I was crazy about them. Had many of their shows in VHS lol
But, when I was a kid, around 6 or 8, I think, I was crazy about Jordy!
First book: No Greater Love by Danielle Steel. It was the first romance I read (I was 8 or 9). I got it from my mother, who had (and still has) many books by Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts and Sidney Sheldon. Of course, I read many children books before, but after reading this one, my book obsession started …
First person: I remember having a “boyfriend” when I was around 8. We used to hold hands and walk home from school (3 blocks away, and we were neighbors). I encountered him again years later on another city and we talked and laughed a lot. Then, there was another guy when I was 15. Bah, did he treat me badly! He was a professional womanizer LOL But I always thought that he could change. I don’t think that was love either, I think that was some kind of teenager obsession. Then, I met my husband at 17. He was 22 and said I love you first (2 months dating). I said it 4 months later, when I was sure that what I was feeling was love. He was the first (and only) guy/man to whom I said I love you. I hope I’ll be able to say the previous sentence when I’m 60 or 70 or 80 ;)
It’s your turn. Share your first loves with us!
Cheers,
PS: I’m not sure I’ll have time to visit everyone’s blog today, but I’ll try. If I don’t visit yours today, I’ll tomorrow! Thanks!

I love that about you and your hubby! My first-love movie was probably Raiders of the Lost Ark. I paid to see it in the theater five different times. It’s still in my Top Ten. First band is harder because I loved Donny Osmond, but he’s not a band. Maybe ABBA? First love book(s) were Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House books. First person? I had a big crush in elementary on some poor guy who ran from me. (I’m sorry, B.) My one true love came much later at age 24.
Juliana
Who didn’t like Indiana Jones? I still do! lol
Danielle B.
David Bowie in Labyrinth was hot. What! I was young and – well I don’t know what.
Juliana
LOL He looks so cool and dangerous on that movie!
Alex J. Cavanaugh
When the guy says it first, he usually means it!
Thanks for participating in my blogfest.
Juliana
Yay, I hope so! We’ve been married for 8 years!

This is a cute blogfest! Hm, first movie I loved — that’s a tie between Raiders of the Lost Arc & Die Hard. I’ve always been an action addict. First album I loved — I have absolutely no idea; none. First book I loved — “Sylvester and the Magic Pebble”, easy-peasy, such a fantastic children’s book; and my all time, endless book love goes without competition to “Pride and Prejudice.” First person love was actually a boy in high school — I’m under no delusions that it was the strong-forever-marriage kind of love I’m in now as an adult, but teenage love is just as real & just as important. Ah, fond memories of all.
Juliana
Ah Indiana Jones! Gotta love it! And Die Hard is one of my favorites too!
Summer Lane
Ahh! Die Hard is one of my all-time favorite films!!! :)

I have never read Danielle Steel. That’s kinda sad, being a big reader, but true romance books are not my thing. I really need to read at least one, just to say I did though.
Juliana
They aren’t my thing either. It was just that that one got me reading and I mean really reading. I would read a 500 pages book in one day, and I was only 8-10!
Kyra Lennon
I loved Labyrinth too! I haven’t picked up a Danielle Steel book in many years, but I am certain there are a few knocking around the house somewhere!
Rachel Morgan
Oh yes, I definitely had a Titanic phase. And a Backstreet Boys phase!
Elodie
OMG Jordy!!!! That´s bringing back a lot of memories! :D
And Titanic too…I had one of those phases as well…

What a sweet story about you and your hubby. <3
Jaycee DeLorenzo
I still love Labyrinth, although those guys who removed their heads and the crazy junk lady still freak me out!
Theresa
I still remember dancing around my best friends bedroom belting out Backstreet Boys! lol. And my boyfriend said I love you first too! Almost the same age difference as you two. We started dating when I was 16 and he was 20. Who says you don’t know what love is as a teen!!!
Enid Wilson
Hi fellow blogfester here. I love Titanic, both the song and movie but I’ve heard people said that the song is boring. I guess different people have different tastes. Great picks.
The Spinster’s Vow
Ciara Knight
Great choices. I love the fact he is the only man you ever said I love you to. :)
Andrea
hehehe. I remember rooting through my mother’s romance books when I was a teen. I would hide them. I guess I was hooked after that :) I think the story of you and your husband is so romantic. I’m also a big fan of Labyrinth. Great Movie!
Andrea
Victoria
Eep! I love your picks! Oh Titanic and some BSB??? I mean how can you not love that!
Nadja Notariani
Labyrinth was my oldest daughter’s favorite for awhile, too. My other daughter’s favorite was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – with Johnny Depp. (and I hated that movie as a kid…the original! Arrgggh. lol)
One of my all time favorite movies is ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’…it’s sort of like my life on the big screen…haha! I laugh so hard even now when I watch, as I can see my family memebers in the roles. Too funny.
As for music…wow. It would be so hard to choose.
No Greater Love…fabulous pick, Juliana! Zoya is another of her books that is fantastic! It may be my all time favorite by Steel.
Rachel Schieffelbein
Oh, that’s so sweet! How wonderful that you married your first love. :)
(Oh, and I dated a ‘bad boy’ once too. Now I tell my speech girls, ‘never date a guy based on his potential. He may never live up to it.)
Stephen Tremp
Hi Juliana, I have to respectfully say I didn;t like any of these. Oh well. As long as you like them that’s all that counts!
Trisha
Yay, you chose Labyrinth too! :) It was one of my picks.
Barbara
I share the love to Danielle Steel with you. Great post!
